14/1/2025 Stepping Into Alignment: My Journey From Silicon Valley to a Life Rooted in PurposeRead NowFour years ago, I made the bold decision to leave a six-figure job in Silicon Valley. As a design thinking manager, I worked with multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams to create innovative, blue-sky products that set trends for technology across the globe. The salary was high, the perks were luxurious, and the people I worked with were among the smartest and most inspiring professionals I’d ever known. On the surface, it was a dream job—but deep inside, something was off.
Feeling the Resistance I began to notice a gap. My role was to optimize people’s time and creativity using techniques like design thinking and improvisation. The goal was to achieve faster results and deliver the next big thing. But beneath the surface, I could sense the pain, tension, and unspoken struggles that my colleagues carried into the workplace every day. We were all there to deliver results, and we were compensated handsomely for it. But the deeper truth was that innovation, creativity, and collaboration require more than just techniques—they require wholeness. Healing and creativity go hand in hand, yet the systems we operated within didn’t address this. Mindfulness programs and work-life balance initiatives were available, but they often felt like surface-level solutions to deeper issues. The workplace wasn’t designed to help people face their pain, overcome it, or heal. And yet, I could see how those unresolved emotions were the very things getting in the way of true collaboration and breakthrough innovation. Recognizing the Call The resistance I felt wasn’t a problem. It was a guide. It kept pulling at me, showing me that my work, as fulfilling as it appeared, was out of alignment with my deeper values. I couldn’t keep optimizing productivity while ignoring the human experience. Most people thought I’d lost my mind when I walked away from something so many would “kill” to have. But I couldn’t ignore the call any longer. Facing the FearsIt wasn’t easy to walk away. I had to confront fears of judgment, financial instability, and the uncertainty of what would come next. The tension I felt wasn’t there to hold me back; it was there to set me free. I couldn’t have done it alone. My teacher and mentor, Patrick O’Neill (@fourchamberedheart), was instrumental in guiding me through this transition. He helped me trust my gifts and talents, face my shadows, and envision a life that aligned with my soul’s longing. For his wisdom and support, I am endlessly grateful. Building a New Life Now, I am living more in tune with my body, creativity, and what truly matters. This doesn’t mean I’m “finished” or complete—I’m still a work in progress. But each day, I make choices that bring me closer to alignment with my values and purpose. My work now centers on supporting others as they navigate their own transitions, using sound, voice, movement, and embodied reflection to help them reconnect with their inner resources and authenticity. An Invitation to YouIf you feel resistance or tension in your current work, you’re not crazy. That resistance is a call—an invitation to step into a life that feels more authentic, joyful, and purposeful. I honor the courage it takes to even consider such a change. If you’re ready to explore what’s next, I’m here to support you. Through sound, voice, movement, and embodied reflection, we can work together to create a life that resonates with your soul. DM me to set up a discovery call and see if we’re a match to work together. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Let’s step into your Soul's song & alignment with your purpose together.
