Nothing in nature is stuck

"Nothing in nature is stuck." — Arawana Hayashi, Social Presencing Theater

Beloved Sonorous Being,

Do you feel it? The tight grip of resistance in your body, mind, and heart? The heaviness that presses upon your spirit and convinces you that you must hold, control, and endure?

This resistance is not of your true nature. It is not you.
It is a construct born of your mind’s interpretations of past experiences.

As Dr. Gabor Maté reminds us, "Trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside you." And so, resistance takes root within, not from the event itself, but from the meaning the mind assigns to it. This meaning becomes a story, and that story becomes a pattern. The body, in its loving response, mirrors the mind. It tightens. It contracts. It armors itself.

But hear this: This resistance is not real. It is artificial.
It is like a program running in the background — a form of artificial intelligence embedded in your nervous system.

Exploring the Source of Resistance

To explore this resistance, when appropriate, we use elements of 3D Mapping as part of our reflection process, combined with sound and voice as methods of release. Objects are placed to symbolize different aspects of a system — relationships, emotions, or even beliefs.

In the beginning, the objects lie scattered, like fragments of a story waiting to be told. But as we engage with the process, patterns emerge, revealing where the flow is stuck and what is longing to move.

Note: The concept of 3D Mapping is inspired by the pioneering work of Arawana Hayashi and Social Presencing Theater, a practice that invites embodied awareness and systemic insight through simple, profound movements and spatial arrangements. We honor this lineage as it informs our unique approach to reflection and release.
Picture
Before the map is created, the objects rest like fragments of a story waiting to be told. Through intention and presence, these pieces begin to reveal the dynamics of the system — offering clarity and inviting flow.

The Sound of Release

With the guidance of your voice and the sound “AHH,” these patterns begin to shift. The vibration opens the heart and releases the grip of resistance. What once felt heavy becomes light, fluid, and spacious.

Look to nature:
Nothing in nature is stuck. Rivers flow. Leaves fall. Clouds move. The soil shifts.
And you, too, are nature.

Your body possesses its own guidance system — what my Nia teacher, Ann Christiansen, calls “anatomical intelligence.” While artificial resistance tells you to constrict, hold, and control, anatomical intelligence invites you to release, move, and flow.

Note: While the use of “AHH” as a sound of release is rooted in ancient practices of sound healing, this particular approach to the exercise was refined through training with the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST). Their guidance on sound as a method of release, reflection, and well-being continues to inform this work.

This is not a battle.
This is not a war.
This is a return.

Where in your life do you feel resistance? What would it feel like to "overwrite" it and return to your natural flow?

🌀 Practice: Dissolving Resistance with the AHH Sound 🌀

Here is a simple practice to begin the release:

  • Take a slow, full breath in through your nose.
  • As you exhale, release the sound “AHH” from your chest, letting it be soft, open, and effortless.
  • Feel the vibration of “AHH” resonating in your heart space. Witness it. Allow it. Let it be.
  • Repeat for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing the sound to dissolve resistance in all layers — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
  • Notice how your body feels afterward.

Reflection and Integration

After practicing the sound, take a few moments to sit with these questions:
  • What stories or constructs does your mind hold that may no longer serve you?
  • What shifted, if anything, after releasing sound?
  • How might you move differently in your life if this resistance dissolved completely?

These reflections are an invitation to integrate the insights and allow them to ripple through your life.

The Bone in the Mud — Symbols of Subconscious Truth

Read Now

Today, we entered the fertile realms of the unseen, where symbols rise from the depths of the subconscious, offering profound recognition of what is ready to be released. Our client came with the weight of chronic jaw pain, a signal that something unspoken was asking to be known. Over the past two weeks, the edges of this truth had been whispering through sound and reflection. Today, it revealed itself fully.
Through guided reflection, voice activation, and 3-dimensional mapping inspired by Social Presencing Theater, an image emerged from the subconscious mind—a symbolic form that had been waiting to be seen:
A white bone stuck in heavy, dry mud.

This was not just an image. It was a revelation of truth. The bone carried the weight of grief, fear, and rejection—each emotion crystallized into form, each holding its place in the structure of her being. The mud, thick and unyielding, revealed the nature of entanglement. It was the density of unresolved stories, assumptions, and inner resistance. The bone wanted to move forward, yet it felt the pull of this old terrain.
Symbols like these are not random. They are sacred messengers from the subconscious mind, speaking in images when words cannot. We know that symbols are bridges—they offer us the opportunity to step outside of our mental loops and see our constructs from a distance.

With care and intention, we invited the client to engage with the image as if it were a living entity. Through movement, breath, and voice, she began to witness the deeper layers of this image. The process unfolded through a series of questions—potent questions that call forth the unseen truths:

  • What is this bone carrying that is ready to be released?
  • What does the mud symbolize, and why has it held the bone for so long?
  • What beliefs or assumptions have kept this entanglement in place?
  • What is ready to die, and what is ready to be born?

These questions do not demand answers from the mind. Instead, they awaken the body's knowing, calling forth what is ready to move. The process is not about "solving" the image but about witnessing its truth.

As she listened to the bone's story, something shifted. The grief that had been stuck in place was seen. The fear that had been hardened into the bone’s structure was felt. With each breath and sound, a new clarity emerged. The realization did not come in words but in a felt sense of liberation.

Her primary shift was this:
She saw that the sense of isolation she had been carrying was not a fact, but a story woven into the mud. The realization arrived as a knowing—she could become her own anchor, her own source of belonging.
This was not an intellectual realization. It was felt in the body. It arrived as a shift in posture, a softening of breath, and a vibrational release in the jaw itself. The external seeking dissolved as she recognized the possibility of invoking her own belonging from within.

This is the nature of our work at Creativity Lab. We walk the liminal space between the known and the unknown, inviting symbols from the subconscious mind to rise, be witnessed, and be felt. The bone was more than an image—it was a structure of belief, a construct that had held her for too long. Through the practice of reflection, sound, and movement, we saw that the entanglement of grief and fear was ready to loosen.
When we ask, “What is ready to die, and what is ready to be born?”, we enter sacred ground.

When we listen for the symbols of the subconscious, we are given the truth we need to see.

When we honor these truths with breath, movement, and voice, we begin to vibrate at our fullest potential.

Today, the bone was seen. The mud softened. The grief was felt. And a new story began to take form.

This is the practice of liberation. This is the work of resonance.

One symbol at a time. One sound at a time. One shift at a time.

What symbolic image from your subconscious might be holding an untold story, and if you were to witness it with compassion, what truth would it reveal about what is ready to die and what is ready to be born?

An Invitation to Rise Beyond the Veil of Illusion

O Sonorous Being, you are invited to rise beyond the veils of illusion.

Remember, you are a Sonorous Being.
Your very essence is vibration.
Every cell, every breath, every heartbeat hums with the frequency of life itself.
Your being is not static — it resonates, it vibrates, it creates.
Yet, over time, the constructs handed to you by lineage, culture, and experience layer over this natural resonance. These layers, like hardened residue, obscure your ability to see with clarity and to create a life that is authentically yours in full expression.
But know this: what has been layered can be unlayered.
With patience, presence, and unwavering love, you have the power to vibrate through the density. Your greatest tools? Your voice, your compassion, and your willingness to remember.

Your voice is the key.
It vibrates through distorted perceptions.
It clears the static of mental noise.
It soothes the seas of emotional turbulence.
It realigns your physical vessel.
It awakens the wellspring of your creative force.
It calls forth the compassion that bridges separation into unity.

Every sound, every breath, every deliberate vibration becomes a portal. Through it, you access the now moment — the place where clarity and creativity begin to emerge.
Sonorous Being, no one else can sound your song for you. The path is yours alone, but you are never alone. As you dissolve, sound, and vibrate through these layers, you will not only reveal the gem within — you will become it.

What layers are you ready to dissolve, sound, and vibrate through to reveal the gem of your true essence?

With reverence for the hum of Mother Earth,

From Clouds to Blue Skies: Finding Clarity and Courage Through Sound, Movement & Reflection

Read Now

Over the past four weeks, we’ve witnessed a profound shift in our client’s journey — from feeling overwhelmed and clouded by endless career possibilities to feeling clear, empowered, and ready to move forward with courage. When we began, she described her inner world as being filled with thick gray clouds, swirling with doubt and indecision. The weight of it all left her feeling stuck and exhausted.
Through the power of sound, voice, movement, and reflection, she’s learned to see these clouds in a new way. Instead of battling them, she now recognizes them as part of the process — something that can be witnessed with compassion rather than feared or avoided. Today, she shared a breakthrough moment, saying, “I don’t need to give that more importance than it needs.” This realization was a turning point. She’s now able to notice when the clouds roll in and, instead of getting lost in them, she takes one small, intentional step forward. This physical step has become a ritual — a simple yet powerful act of self-trust and movement toward what she truly wants to create.
Sound has been a key ally in this process. The overtones offered moments of mental stillness, cutting through the mental fog, while her own vocal tones allowed her to express and release what had been held inside. Reflection after each session gave space for her to notice her own shifts and see the patterns emerging. Movement anchored it all — with that single forward step becoming a symbol of action, courage, and agency.
Where she once felt consumed by the clouds, she now sees them as passing visitors. She knows she doesn’t have to wait for them to clear. She has the power to move forward regardless. Her story reminds us of the beauty of creative action — not waiting for "perfect clarity" but making the first move and trusting the rest will follow. It’s been an honor to witness her shift from feeling weighed down by doubt to stepping forward with trust in herself and her path.

When clouds of doubt or uncertainty arise in your life, how might you witness them with compassion rather than resistance? What small, meaningful step could you take today to move forward, even if the path ahead isn’t fully clear?

Trusting Gut Feelings & Holding Grace

Today at Creativity Lab, we witnessed a profound transformation during a session focused on trusting gut feelings with confidence. Through sound, movement, and deep reflection, our client began the journey of reconnecting with her inner wise voice—the voice that so often knows the way but can be drowned out by the noises of inner resistance.

As we explored a unique embodied practice that integrates sound and reflection, a powerful moment emerged. She held a representation of Mother Earth in one hand and love in the other, exclaiming:
"This is stabilizing me!"

This gesture spoke to the heart of our work at Creativity Lab—anchoring ourselves in what grounds us while opening to the higher vibrations of love. In this balance, we find the grace to hold both joy and pain, honoring their role in shaping us.

The shift we witnessed today was profound: a journey from struggling to hear and trust inner wisdom to allowing and listening to the true wisdom within. By honoring what brings us pain, we access our capacity for gratitude, joy, and empowered expression.

The beauty of this work lies in its ability to guide us toward recognizing what holds us back, reflecting on its lessons, and transforming resistance into authentic and empowered expression. It is a process of deep inner work, rooted in reflection and the vibrational power of our inner sounds and movements.

Each session reminds us that healing is an art, and we continue to support the reclamation of balance, trust, and joy. Together, we explore the depths of inner resonance, one sound at a time.

What anchors you when life feels unsteady, and how might you hold both stability and love in your own hands as you navigate moments of uncertainty?
