A Somatic Transmission & Creative AlchemyEach Field Note is a transmission—a resonance received through the body, shaped by presence, and offered in devotion to what longs to bloom. May these words meet you where you are and awaken what is waiting to burst open within you. A sensation spoke today. Not in words, but in a slow unfolding beneath the surface. I stayed. I followed the thread of it inward, even as it shifted and danced away.
There is a rhythm I’ve lived by—quick, migratory, always reaching for the next. It shows up in the way I move across lands, across thoughts, across sensations. It has its own wisdom, this motion. But today, something else was needed. Stillness. A different kind of listening. One that waits long enough for what’s hidden to speak. Earlier in the day, my husband Uygar and I were in the garden—planting, loosening the soil, breathing in the scent of earth. There was something ancient in that rhythm. Life becoming life. The garden held us both in its quiet invitation to presence. I didn’t realize then that I was preparing not only the garden bed, but my own inner ground. Later, as I entered quiet reflection, I noticed a growing tension on the left side of my neck. A presence forming. When I stayed with it, an image emerged: a cyst. Dense. Contained. I asked what it needed. And it answered--“Burst me open.” The words startled me. But I stayed. I placed my hand over the area, gently, listening with presence. The pain intensified, yet so did a strange sense of safety. As if the deeper I felt, the more trust could grow. Over time, I came to understand: the cyst wasn’t just pain. It was a construct—formed long ago, in response to a moment when I had to choose survival over full expression. In that moment, a belief took shape. And in order to hold that belief, to carry it, the body created a container. The cyst became a sacred vessel. One that held all the creative tension that had no place to go. It did its job. It protected what couldn’t yet be felt. It waited. And now, it was time. Memories surfaced—flickers of childhood, of a younger self who had once tucked her truth away. I didn’t turn away. I simply held it all, with reverence. Then, without warning, the cyst began to shift. It softened. It opened. And from its center bloomed a dandelion—huge, luminous, alive with seeds. I envisioned holding it in my hands, tenderly. And as I breathed out, I blew its seeds into the wind. My voice followed in melody. Each note carried a seed. I didn’t need to know where they would land. Only that something sacred had been released. What burst open was not just pain. It was possibility. A constellation of creativity, long held in waiting, now finally free to move. And so I offer this note as an invitation: To stay with what is tender. To meet what is masked with curiosity. To trust what reveals itself slowly. Even the constructs we carry—the ones that seem like blockages—often hold a sacred intelligence. They are not mistakes. They are waiting rooms. Vessels. Dandelions in disguise. With presence, Delphi

Today in our Compassionate Inquiry triad, I entered with a sense of emptiness.
Not the kind of emptiness that longs to be filled—but the kind that simply is. A still, almost boring space that modern life teaches us to flee from. Within it, I noticed an echo—a quiet grief nestled beneath the silence. It didn’t announce itself with stories or urgency. It simply waited. And yet, even in this stillness, there came the familiar chorus: We need to feel something. We need to get somewhere. We need to do. It was through the skillful guidance of my co-practitioner that I remained there—held and gently encouraged not to move, but to stay. To be. And in that shared presence, the veil began to lift. Sadness arrived—not attached to any one memory, just a raw, tender presence. Then came a sensory vision. A felt moment, not quite a memory, from my younger self in Istanbul. It was a grey Sunday. Rain tapping the windows. Homework untouched. An exam approaching. But I didn’t want to study. I didn’t want to produce, perform, or comply. I wanted to be under the covers, listening to the storm—held by the melancholy of the moment. And beneath it all, the drone of traffic, constant and unchangeable, threading through the scene like the background hum of existence. This moment reminded me of something deeply human: our being often longs to rest in presence, but our nervous system—conditioned by urgency, performance, and productivity—pulls us elsewhere. In our culture of doing, we bypass the being. We override it with guilt, anxiety, or the inner taskmaster’s voice. And in doing so, we distance ourselves from our own creative source. What if the discomfort we feel in stillness is not a sign of failure, but a sacred threshold? A portal into something deeper. A return. The nervous system, conditioned by generations of survival strategies, wants us to move on, get going, achieve. But our being sometimes just wants to dwell in the rain. In the moment. In the cozy undercurrent of presence. When we ignore this, we fracture:
Sometimes that something is grief. Sometimes it is melancholy. And sometimes, just beyond that threshold, is creativity. Joy. Song. Life. This field note is a remembering: Our being is wise. And often, it speaks through what we’re taught to ignore. Delphi at Creativity Lab |

FIELD NOTESWelcome to Field Notes, where we share stories of transformation, moments of resonance, and the profound insights that emerge from our work at Creativity Lab. Each entry captures the essence of our journey—working with sound, movement, and reflection to help individuals reconnect with their inner wisdom, embrace their authentic expression, and find balance in the dualities of life. These notes offer a glimpse into the shifts we witness: the reclamation of joy through pain, the power of trusting one’s inner voice, and the beauty of holding space for others to step into their fullest selves. Through these reflections, we invite you to explore what’s possible when we listen deeply, move with intention, and allow sound to guide us toward transformation. Join us as we continue to chart the path of resonance, one note at a time. Archives
